The Narrows | Zion National Park, Utah, USA
The Narrows is the most popular hike in Zion National Park and stands as one of the premier slot canyon hikes on the planet. As you make your way upstream the main walls close in to form a towering corridor with beautiful rock formations and the Virgin River flowing at your feet. Very little direct sunlight reaches the canyon floor. The space is so tight that the river covers the bottom in many spots so you have to wade or swim to move forward.
This shot features a section called Wall Street where the canyon reaches its narrowest point. If you look closely you can see a few hikers in the distance who appear tiny against the 610 meter high walls. It is a powerful place to photograph because the massive scale of the stone makes everything else look so small.
