The View

Monument Valley, UT

Any fan of Western films will recognize this landscape. The area was made famous by director John Ford who filmed many films here beginning in 1939. On arriving at this location you only have to walk a few steps to a viewing area and the incredible scene unfolds before you, 180 degrees of WOW!

The monuments in the park have descriptive names created by the early settlers of Monument Valley. In this shot you can see the hand shaped formations, East and West Mitten Buttes with Merrick Butte on the right.
