The Narrows – Zion National Park, UT

 

The most memorable and exciting part of my holiday in the U.S. was the road trip through the national parks.


The Narrows is the narrowest section of Zion Canyon. This gorge has sandstone walls that are hundreds of meters tall and the river sometimes just 5 to 10 meters wide. Hiking is done largely in the river as the river runs canyon wall to canyon wall. With beautiful flowing water and barely any direct sunlight reaching the bottom, this is the slot canyon that all other slot canyons are compared to.  I will come back to this place again someday
