Until you see New York City from the top of the Empire State Building, you haven’t really seen it. The 360-degree views of the NYC skyline from the 86th floor observation deck are nothing short of spectacular. It wasn’t long after arriving here that a storm rolled through, clearing a lot of the crowd off the deck and allowing me to find a good viewing area before the sun started to set. The rain continued to fall, and as the sun began to sink into the horizon, the colours of the sky turned a brilliant orange like nothing I had seen before. This was one of the best sunsets I’ve seen in a while and a perfect ending to the day.
