Secret Falls

Many spectacular waterfalls sit within a short drive of Hobart and they really come to life when the snow melts on Mt Wellington during winter. After seeing photos of this hidden cascade, I felt a pull to find the spot for myself. Its location is often a secret kept among photographers, making the search part of the adventure.
Situated in a secluded area along the Myrtle Gully track, Secret Falls is a beautiful sight tucked into the foothills of the mountain. The water drops only a few metres into a very narrow crevice and the thick overgrowth surrounding the area makes it easy to miss. Finding such a magical and quiet place feels like discovering a private corner of the wilderness.
