Multnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls | Columbia River Gorge, Oregon, USA
Multnomah Falls is located on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. The water drops in two major steps, with an upper falls of 165 metres and a lower falls of 21 metres. With a total height of 189 metres, it is officially the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon.
It is incredible that you do not have to hike for hours to see something this spectacular. While it is only a short walk from the car, getting this shot was a challenge because of the constant mist and spray coming off the falls. I had to keep the lens dry while waiting for a break in the crowds to capture the full scale of both drops and the iconic stone bridge. The best view is from this lookout at the bottom because it is the only way to really appreciate the height of the entire waterfall in one frame.
