Horseshoe Falls
Horseshoe Falls | Mt Field National Park, Tasmania, Australia
Mt Field National Park is an essential stop about an hour outside Hobart. It is home to two of the most stunning waterfalls in the state. While Russell Falls tends to get all the attention, Horseshoe Falls is my personal favorite. The walk to get there takes you through a forest of tall swamp gums and massive tree ferns where the mossy undergrowth feels like another world.
Both falls are at their best after heavy rain and we were lucky enough to visit right after a massive downpour. There was certainly no shortage of flowing water on this day. Stopping here to take in the spectacular beauty of the gully was a highlight of the trip.
