Panther Creek Falls

Panther Creek Falls is a remarkable sight and stands as one of the most impressive locations in the region. The drive through the mountains to reach this spot is beautiful but we were lucky to arrive at all. Snow covered the road for the final stretch and we only made it because someone had recently cleared a path through the many fallen trees blocking the way.
While there is a viewing platform at the top, getting to the bottom requires a scramble down a steep cliff using ropes left by previous explorers. Balancing my tripod in one hand while navigating the slippery rocks was a challenge but the perspective from the base is truly awe inspiring. Standing close enough to feel the mist on my face and the soft moss under my feet made the difficult descent worth it. This is easily one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen.
