The journey from Wanaka to Aoraki Mount Cook is an unforgettable experience. This view from Peters Lookout captures the road as it winds around the hills and follows the edge of the vibrant turquoise water of Lake Pukaki. It is easily one of the most spectacular landscapes I have ever seen.
The light gray road snakes along the shore and leads your eye right toward the snow capped mountains in the distance. I love how the pale color of the road stands out against the bright blue of the lake. It really gives you a sense of how massive this landscape is as you head toward the peaks.
