Mclean Falls
Mclean Falls | The Catlins, South Island, New Zealand
McLean Falls is one of my favorite locations from my time exploring the South Island. These falls are often called the most beautiful in the Catlins region and the unique layout makes it clear why they hold such a reputation.
The water drops twenty two meters from the top before reaching a series of stunning stone terraces. This lower section is completely draped in green moss and looks almost like a separate waterfall. The contrast between the powerful upper drop and the delicate flow over the mossy ledges creates a scene that feels like a hidden forest sanctuary.
