Powerful flash flooding has been the primary architect of this incredible slot canyon. Over countless years, rushing rainwaters have carved and smoothed the sandstone into flowing walls that resemble a true work of art.
Between late spring and early autumn, the sun reaches a height that allows direct light to penetrate deep into the narrow crevices of Antelope Canyon. During this moment, a single beam of light descends to the canyon floor and ignites the fiery red stone. Looking at the way the light illuminates the dust and the stone, it is easy to see why this chamber feels like a natural cathedral.
