Surfers Midnight Orbit

A moonless sky and cloud free conditions provided a clear view of the heavens above the Gold Coast. This image recorded one hour of celestial motion as the stars appeared to spin around the glittering skyline. The timing proved ideal because the changing tide created a glass like surface on the water that mirrored the rotation of the stars
While I captured the movement of the sky, a boat moved through the frame and left those distinct red and white light trails in the foreground. It was a great way to add a sense of life to the dark coastal landscape.
