Loch Ard Gorge

Great Ocean Road, Port Campbell VIC

Only a short drive from The Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road you will find Loch Ard Gorge. It’s named after the famous Loch Ard Shipwreck, which saw the loss of 52 lives on one fateful night in June 1878.

This place is a spectacular sight to see and if you don’t like the thought of having to battle your way through the crowds at The Twelve Apostles during sunset this is place is just as good, if not better. This gorge is picturesque with its clear blue water and golden sandy beach surrounded by cliff faces and I was fortunate to have this place all to myself for just a short moment.
