One Tree Hill
Maleny, Sunshine Coast, Australia
This lone tree standing in a grassy paddock at Maleny is a famous icon of the Sunshine Coast hinterland. It is easy to see why so many people are drawn to this spot since it offers some of the most spectacular views of the Glass House Mountains found anywhere in the region.
I visited this location twice over a couple of days and found a different atmosphere each time. The sky was thick with clouds on this morning so I used a long exposure to capture their motion across the frame. A dreamy flow appears above the horizon and makes the single tree stand out as a point of perfect stillness against the moving sky.
