Horseshoe Bend

Page, Arizona, USA

Antelope Canyon is easily the most popular spot to visit while staying in Page, but you simply cannot leave the area without seeing Horseshoe Bend. This part of the Colorado River takes its name from the way the water winds into a perfect horseshoe shape as it carves a path through the sandy red canyon walls.

On our last night in town we stopped in to see the sunset. As we sat watching the sun gradually disappear into the horizon, the canyon walls glowed a beautiful orange and red in the vanishing sunlight. Photos really do not do this place justice. To truly experience the grandeur of the canyon, you simply have to be there in person.
