Main Beach, Queensland, Australia
I stood along the road at Main Beach during the quiet moments before a storm arrived. The sky behind the lifeguard tower was filled with a soft, vibrant pink, providing a bright contrast to the heavy clouds moving up the coast. This splash of colour was a short break in the weather, as thick rain was already visible in the distance.
Using a long exposure allowed me to blend the stillness of the beach with the movement of the morning. As I took the shot, a car drove through the frame and left bright streaks of light along the road that lead the eye past the tower and toward the dark horizon. It was a rare chance to capture the peace of the sunrise just before the storm took over the shoreline.
