Sentinel
Burleigh Heads, Queensland, Australia
Most people on the Gold Coast know the famous shoreline at Burleigh Heads where ancient volcanic rocks meet the sea. This particular formation is one of the largest along the coast and it towers over the rest of the rocks nearby. You can easily spot its massive silhouette from quite a distance away.
I call this spot Burleigh Rock and it is a stunning place to be at dawn. On this morning I climbed onto a higher ledge behind it to get this exact view. Watching the waves crash against the base while the sun slowly rose over the horizon was incredible. Early starts like this are always rewarding when you get to witness a view this spectacular.
