Chalahn Falls
Chalahn Falls | Lamington National Park, Queensland, Australia
You will find this picturesque waterfall tucked away on the Toolona Creek Circuit in the Green Mountains section of Lamington National Park. Chalahn Falls sits about halfway along the 17.4km trek and the hike through the rainforest is well worth the effort, especially after a heavy downpour of rain. While there are many spectacular waterfalls to see along this track, Chalahn is definitely my favorite to visit.
The way the water cascades over the mossy rocks and fallen logs is truly an unforgettable sight. I chose to use a long exposure for this shot to give the falls a more magical feeling as they flow through the greenery. The damp air and the sound of the water crashing through the trees create such a powerful atmosphere that you can only experience deep in the national park. This print captures that sense of wonder and the rugged beauty of the Australian rainforest in its most vibrant state.
