Most people on the Gold Coast would be familiar with the shoreline at Burleigh Heads where ancient volcanic rocks meet the ocean.  This is one of the largest volcanic rocks along the shoreline, it stands high above all the rest and can easily be seen from some distance away.

 

Burleigh Rock as I have named it is a beautiful place to watch the sunrise, and on this particular morning I climbed onto a large rock just behind to get this view as waves crashed below and the sun slowly peeked over the horizon.  It’s always worth the early wake up call for sunrises like this.
